A semester abroad

Carolina Global Launch enables first-year students to study abroad at one of our partner universities during their fall semester and then enroll at Carolina in the spring. Through the program, students immerse themselves in a new culture, earn credits toward their Carolina degrees and get to know other new Tar Heels.

    Brian Delany '22 leveraged the technical and entrepreneurial skills that he gained studying biomedical engineering and as a student-worker at Carolina's makerspaces to land a job as a manufacturing and innovation engineer at Procter & Gamble.

    First-year student Bella Hancock began her Carolina career away from Chapel Hill at Maynooth University near Dublin, Ireland. She was among the more than 80 first-year students who made up the Carolina Global Launch’s second cohort this past fall.
